Madeline Puckette,
Chief Design Officer,
Folly Enterprises

  


Madeline Puckette is the chief design officer at Folly Enterprises and creator of WineFolly.com. Wine Folly is an award-winning brand dedicated to consumer wine education. Puckette’s work with Wine Folly includes the creation of 2 books, a New York Times bestseller and a James Beard Award winner, as well as a portfolio of online courses, maps, and wine education tools.

Puckette's latest project with Folly Enterprises is a winery data standard tool called Global Wine Database (https://gwdb.io). The goal of the project is to deliver a digital wine catalog API for the industry to better serve both wine consumers and the trade. In 2019, Madeline Puckette was awarded Wine Communicator of the Year by International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC). As a personality, Madeline Puckette is the host of the Wine Folly YouTube channel and was featured in Jason Wise's documentaries Somm: Into The Bottle and Somm 3.

   

Evan Goldstein, MS,

Evan Goldstein, MS, is one of the nation’s most prolific food and wine industry veterans. His food and wine career started at age 19 in the kitchens of the Restaurant Le Saintongeais and the Hotel Lancaster in Paris, Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley, and Chez Panisse Café in Berkeley, California. In 1984 he joined his mother Chef and Author Joyce Goldstein in opening the celebrated San Francisco restaurant Square One where as sommelier his wine lists received myriad awards. In 1987, he became the eighth American and youngest ever at the time to pass the prestigious Master Sommelier examination. Since 1990, Evan has created education programs, wine training and service hospitality schools with Seagram Chateau & Estates Wines Company, Diageo, Allied Domecq, and most recently, as the Vice President of Global Wine & Brand Education at Beam Wine Estates. In addition, Evan continues to train and examine candidates for the Court of Master Sommeliers as a Founding Board member and former Chairman. In his role as Chief Education Officer for Full Circle Wine Solutions, Evan is responsible for all content development and oversees all execution, either directly or via one of the select educators the company works with regularly.

Evan is the author of Five Star Service: Your Guide to Hospitality Excellence and the critically acclaimed books, Perfect Pairings: A Master Sommelier’s Practical Advice for Partnering Wine with Food and its sequel, Daring Pairings: A Master Sommelier Matches Distinctive Wines with Recipes from His Favorite Chefs. His latest literary undertaking, ‘Wines of South America: The Essential Guide’ was published in fall 2014. He also makes regular guest appearances on the top-rated “Ronn Owens’ Show” on KGO Radio in San Francisco.

   

Cameron Frey,
Vice President, Winemaking,
Ramey Wine Cellars

 


Cameron joined Ramey Wine Cellars prior to the 2002 harvest and has since been an integral part of crafting our award-winning wines. Cameron was born and raised in Lodi, California before heading off to California State University-Fresno. He graduated with a B.S. in Enology and Chemistry in 1991 and promptly joining Robert Mondavi Winery, where he was a Master Lab Technician prior to becoming Assistant Winemaker. In 1996, Cameron joined Gallo of Sonoma Winery as Assistant Winemaker, where he focused on Gallo’s first high-end Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Syrah programs. In 2001, Cameron and his wife set off to Italy where Cameron worked as harvest winemaker at Casa Girelli Winery in Puglia, Italy.

Once he joined David Ramey and began building the team at Ramey Wine Cellars, Cameron’s responsibilities have ranged from management of all production tasks to hands on cellar work, development of winemaking procedures, schedules, budgets and safety programs, as well as occasionally lending a hand to sales and marketing. In addition to managing the production team at Ramey Wine Cellars, Cameron enjoys sailing on San Francisco Bay and cheering on his twin sons’ tennis team.

   

Francois Margot,
Director, Commercial Export,
Diam America

 


As Diam’s Director of Commercial Export, Margot is a popular presence at wine trade shows known for his expertise and knowledge of technological cork closures for still wine, sparkling wine and spirits. Margot graduated from the ESSEC Business School in Paris and has an Agricultural Engineering degree from Angers in France as well as a winemaking certificate from University of California at Davis. Before joining DIAM Bouchage in 2004, Margot spent 12 years as a production and export manager in the French wine industry.

Working with DIAM over the last 18 years, Margot has been deeply involved in the development of DIAM products and international market distribution (Europe, North America and Asia Pacific region). He is now located in San Francisco to better serve the region’s wine industry and strengthen the product education and presence of both Diam and Vivelys companies in the United States.
